We got our first grade.
On the 17th May, 2024, Xpress Labels achieved a High Silver Corporate Social Responsibility accreditation at our first attempt, scoring 76% in the review by CSR-Accreditation’s panel of experts.
Xpress Labels was the first company to sign up as an Associate Member of CSR Accreditation back in March and is now delighted to have achieved full certification only a few months later with a High Silver award.
The 76% score, only 4% away from Gold certification, is a testament to the dedication of the team at Xpress Labels, who have worked extremely hard to prepare for this assessment, working on the four pillars of corporate social responsibility: environment, community, philanthropy, and workplace.
Community Sponsorship
Giving back to the community, Xpress Labels has become the community sponsor for Aylesbury United FC, sponsors their youth and pan-disability teams, and works with Aylesbury Youth Concern and the Florence Nightingale Hospice.
As an Aylesbury based label manufacturer, we felt it was right to set up a “Free Labels for Primary Schools” scheme around Aylesbury, donating over 14,000 fun labels to various local schools to date.
A huge amount of work has gone into improving environmental policies, including working with Buckinghamshire Business First (BBF) to calculate our carbon footprint.
A great place to work
Xpress Labels aims to be a great place to work, because looking after our workforce is not only good for our staff, it is also good for the business. Xpress Labels is investing in its staff and working to recruit staff for the future, signing up for the BPIF Apprentice scheme. Xpress Labels has also become an accredited Living Wage Foundation employer. The business firmly believes that investing in its staff is the right thing to do, and good for the business. The real living wage boosts staff motivation, helps retain staff, and helps attract new staff. It also demonstrates Xpress Labels determination to be a great place to work.
Looking forwards, Xpress Labels is working on B-Corp certification, and has found CSR Accreditation to be a great start for that journey. But we are not content to leave it there. We’ll be back next year with every intention of turning that silver into gold.
